Tough Mudder – Optimise takes on the challenge for Unicef

Optimise UK will be taking on the Tough Mudder challenge on 13 October 2018. Tough Mudder is a series of hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle race – mud run events designed by British Special Forces to challenge the toughest of the tough!

One of our 2018 objectives was to have a social purpose for the Optimise Group of companies and we adopted Unicef as our chosen charity. They help children in danger by providing education, life-saving food & nutrition, clean water, vaccines, relief in emergencies and protection from violence. They’re also global, non-religious and work across 190 countries, so we felt they represent a very close fit in terms of our values and ability to help children in every country where we have a presence, regardless of gender, nationality or religion.

Tough Mudder is an endurance event series in which participants attempt 10–12 mile-long (16–19 km) obstacle courses that test mental as well as physical strength. The obstacles often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights. The main principle of the Tough Mudder revolves around teamwork. The Tough Mudder organization values camaraderie throughout the course, designing obstacles that encourage group participation. Participants must commit to helping others complete the course, putting teammates before themselves, and overcoming fears. An average 78% of entrants successfully complete the course.

We aim to test our strong team at optimise and see if we, together, can conquer the Tough Mudder.

The real reason we’re telling you is to ask for your help in getting to our fundraising target for Unicef. If you would be so kind, please visit our donation page to make a contribution to this great cause.
